A rewrite of the National Law has seen AMSA assume control of all domestic commercial vessels (DCV’s) within Australia. To ensure that your vessel is compliant under the new regulations it is important to deal with a surveying company who has a clear understanding of the National Law and the implementation of the governing rules set out within the National Standard for Commercial Vessels (NSCV). Through Oceanic’s accreditation with AMSA we are authorised to conduct commercial survey inspections on domestic commercial vessels. Whether overseeing a complete new build, or surveying an existing vessel, we are available for local, national and overseas appointments as necessary.
Pre-Purchase: Purchasing a vessel is one of the largest investments that you’ll ever make. Don’t risk your family’s safety or your financial investment by buying a suspect vessel. Nowadays vessels are becoming increasingly complicated with advanced construction techniques, involved engineering & mechanical systems and modern electronics. Make sure you engage a marine surveyor who is skilled and competent in all aspects of your vessel.
During a condition survey the following services are offered:
- Hull and structural assessment
- Review of engineering systems
- Moisture content analysis (fibreglass vessels)
- Engine oil sample analysis
- Non destructive testing
- Sea trial assessment
Usually completed at the request of an insurer either to initially gain insurance or to report a claim.
